It’s been a busy few weeks for Miss Wigan!
Well it’s been just over 7 weeks since the Miss Wigan final and boy have I been busy!
I have been involved with various local charities and events since the final and had the great pleasure of meeting a number of new people.
Firstly I was asked to attend a 24 hour bowl-a-thon in aid of Wigan & Leigh Hospice, alongside Junior Miss Wigan, the Mayor of Wigan, Wigan Athletic Football manager and Wigan Warriors players.
The night was amazing and considering as I haven’t bowled in about 10 years, it’s amazing that I won!
Secondly, I was fortunate enough to be asked to be a patron of the Leigh Turnpike Community Trust Theatre Group! Me and Leah (Junior Miss Wigan) were invited to one of their rehearsals for their Christmas pantomime Puss in Boots which I cannot wait to go and see!
Another charity I have been helping within the 7 weeks is a local charity called Dementia Buddy, this is a fantastic charity I hope to help get the publicity it needs! Many upcoming events to help raise awareness for this charity are coming up so keep your eyes peeled on my Facebook and twitter pages!
These guys have created a brilliant device in a form of a wristband, badge or key ring for vulnerable people, people with dementia or children. Simply turn NFC on your phone and if you see anyone with one of the items with the guardian angel logo on, place your phone over the top and it will immediately give you an emergency contact number for the confused and lost person. Brilliant!
Other events I have been involved in are helping Leigh genesis under 15s to raise funding, the release of balloons at Sainsburys Leigh for Joining Jack and also helping to raise money for Alfie & Thomas wheelchair funding which I am holding a ladies night for and to also raise money for beauty with a purpose.
Very busy few weeks as well as working and a holiday! But I managed to find time to go and see the lovely, amazing Lucy Physick be crowned as Miss Lancashire at the Miss Lancashire Finals! It was such a weird yet wonderful feeling watching it from the other side as that was me 7 weeks ago, each girl looked stunning and should be so proud!
Massive congratulations to Lucy and good luck in the Miss England Final !!!
